Projection at the Cancer Clinic of Valenciennes
Video projection on architecture | loop | FullHD | color | mute | 2018
This video is an animation of a multi-blade collimator from a dosimetric calculation performed by a physicist for 3D conformal radiotherapy.
While turning around the treated patient, the collimator head adjusts its shape to target the tumor precisely while avoiding as much as possible to touch organs at risk.
The physicist draws these digital patterns like a lacemaker.
Extracted from their medical context, the forms generated by this animation evoke a sort of abstract pixel-art.
Projected at the scale of an architecture, the pixel becomes brick. A sort of silhouette appears in the emptiness of black, drawn by the plain changing blue blades. We find there something of the colors and the movement of the lines of my installation Dance /// Fragment (2015) or even something of the silhouette of my legs in my projection on architecture The Approximate man (2010).
